Once Flourishing Maiduguri Railway Terminal Now In Ruins
The once flourishing railway terminal of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, now lies in ruins after years of closure.
Residents recount the good old days when trains were the backbone of their local economy.
The railway terminal and the abandoned trains have now been overgrown by grasses while internally displaced persons occupy some parts.

Bayelsa Govt. Evicts 2012 Flood Victims From School
Some victims of the 2012 flooding in Bayelsa State, who are taking refuge in a school, have been evicted by the state government to enable students return to the school.
Hundreds of victims of the 2012 flood disaster took refuge in Bishop Dimeari Grammar School, (BDGS) Yenagoa, but after the flood receded many of them refused to leave.
They were joined by other homeless people, thereby making it impossible for the students of the BDGS to return to their schools for academic work.

DSS arrests two more judges, freeze accounts of others under investigation
Agents of the Department of State Security DSS have arrested two more judges over allegations of corruption. According to The Nation, Justices Bashir Sukola and Ladan Manir of the Kaduna State High Court, were arrested in Kaduna and taken to the DSS Headquarters in Abuja at about 8.30pm yesterday October 12th.
CBN suspends all banks except first bank from forex sale to BDCs
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has suspended all the banks, with the exception of First Bank, from selling dollar proceeds of International Money Transfer Services, (IMTS) to Bureau De Change, BDCs till further notice. The suspension came as a result of none compliance to the directive CBN had given to banks two months ago to sell proceeds of their international money transfer services to BDCs.

Ogun State Proposes 25-year Jail Term For Land Grabbers
The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a bill proposing 25 years imprisonment or death sentence for anyone found guilty of land grabbing.
The assembly in its deliberations on Tuesday also prescribed a death sentence if a life is lost during the “forceful takeover of land with the use of any fire arms, offensive weapon, obnoxious or chemical materials.”
The passage of the bill follows the presentation of the report of special joint committees on Lands and Housing as well as Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions.
